Ordering, catering and franchising, answered.
General
What is Hungry Gorilla? +
Hungry Gorilla is a neighborhood cafe and catering kitchen. Each cafe serves breakfast, lunch and coffee every day, and builds catering boards, boxed lunches and event menus for groups of ten to five hundred.
Are your cafes independently owned? +
Yes. Every Hungry Gorilla cafe is owned and run by a local franchise owner, supported by our team in Austin, Texas.
Do you cater for dietary requirements? +
Every menu item lists its allergens, and most bowls and boards can be made vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. Tell us about your guests when you order and the kitchen will adjust.
Ordering
How far ahead should I order catering? +
Boards and boxed lunches need 24 hours notice. Events over 100 guests need seven days so the cafe can schedule staff and delivery.
Can I pick up my order? +
Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and pick a time slot. Your order is ready at the counter at that time.
Do you deliver? +
Most cafes deliver catering orders within 15 miles. The delivery fee is shown at checkout once you enter your address.
Franchising
How much does it cost to open a Hungry Gorilla? +
The total investment ranges from $385,000 to $610,000, including the $40,000 franchise fee, build-out, equipment and opening inventory.
Do I need restaurant experience? +
No. Around half of our owners came from other industries. You complete six weeks of training at our Austin flagship before you open, and a field coach works alongside you for your first month.
Which territories are available? +
We are currently awarding territories in Idaho, North Carolina, Colorado, Georgia and Ohio. Submit an enquiry and we will send the current territory map.
